A Visit to London's Transport Museum Depot

London's Transport Museum located at Covent Garden is closed for rennovations until late 2007. Until then, the only alternative to viewing London's Transport history is to visit their Museum Depot at Acton Town, conveniently accessible from Acton Town Underground station. To access the depot, visitors can register for guided tours on selected dates, or general admission is available on weekends. The guided tour takes around 2 hours to complete and is excellent value for money.

The depot has a magnificent collection of old tube and sub-surface stock cars, buses, trolleybus as well as an enourmous collection of surplus signs and other station and street infrastructure used to support the services of London Transport in years gone by. For further information consult London's Transport Museum's website.
